Requirements for Authorisation for "Erection and Maintenance" of Lifts
 
The lift erection company intending to get approval shall meet the following criteria and apply in the prescribed form with supporting documents to the Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt., Chennai -600 032
 
  1. Shall have an independent office premises and workshop within the State of Tamil Nadu.


  2. To produce a Certificate from any nationalised bank to the effect that he is solvent to the extent of Rs.3,00,000/-.


  3. Shall have the following minimum staff on regular employment.


    1. B.E.(Mech) with 5 years of experience in erection of Lifts.
      Or
      Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 8 years experience in erection of lifts.


    2. B.E. (Electrical) with 5 years experience in erection of Lift
      Or
      DEEE with 8 years experience


    3. Two ITI holders with Electrician or Electronics Trade Two helpers, One ITI in fitter trade for erection.


    4. One ITI holder in Electrician Trade with two years Field experience and 'WC C' Licence issued by Tamil Nadu Electrical Licensing Board.


    5. One Maintenance pair of staff for Maintenance of every 50 lifts in a calendar year with One ITI Electrician, One ITI Fitter and One Helper.


  4. Workshop of standard size with the following equipments.


    1. Lathe M/c


    2. Drilling M/c


    3. Atleast 5 KVA Welding M/c


    4. Hacksaw M/c


    5. Chain pulley block of 3 tonne capacity


    6. Standard weight trolley


    7. Clipon meter for measuring voltage current etc.


    8. Tachometer


    9. Meggar


    10. Earth Tester


  5. Shall have necessary safety gadgets like safety belts, headgears for entire staff engaged in the work of erection.
